This historic steeple belongs to the First Presbyterian Church in Port Gibson, MS. The gold hand is over 10' tall, and the church is over 100 years old. General Grant did not destroy Port Gibson in the Civil War; he said it was "too beautiful to burn".
Born and raised in Vicksburg, MS, currently living in Starkville, MS. Professional artist, past adjunct professor at Mississippi College, and Wayland Baptist University at the Kenya Campus. My painting styles run the gamut from realism, abstraction and nonobjective with a variety of media and subjects. I love nature and the outdoors and light and color. My first grant received was a federal block grant through the MS Department of Human Services in which I created a video program on how to develop creative thinking. This series,THE CREATIVE CHILD, was used for continuing education credits for child caregivers.
