Artist's Description

I was feeding these birds on the beach, holding a camera in the other hand and snapping photos. I painted these later in my studio. The painting is titled Impervious because they seem so free and unaffected. It was a beautiful day!

Jeanette Jarmon

Born and raised in Vicksburg, MS, currently living in Starkville, MS. Professional artist, past adjunct professor at Mississippi College, and Wayland Baptist University at the Kenya Campus. My painting styles run the gamut from realism, abstraction and nonobjective with a variety of media and subjects. I love nature and the outdoors and light and color. My first grant received was a federal block grant through the MS Department of Human Services in which I created a video program on how to develop creative thinking. This series,THE CREATIVE CHILD, was used for continuing education credits for child caregivers. The series was shown on MS Educational Television and won an award at the Columbus International Film and Video Festival,...
